2003 DUES ARE DUE BY DECEMBER 31st . . . Dues must be RECEIVED or POSTMARKED no later than December 31, 2002 in order to avoid a $100 reinstatement fee. A $25 late fee was assessed on December 1. If dues remain unpaid as of January 6th, all Association Services, INCLUDING USE OF THE SUPRA KEY, will be suspended. If you have not received your invoice or if you have any questions, please contact the Association office. If you have paid your dues for 2003, please disregard this reminder.

HOLIDAY OFFICE SCHEDULE . . . The Association office will close at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, December 31st, and will be closed on January 1st. Have a very Happy and Safe New Year!

ZIP FORMS TRAINING . . . Do you have questions regarding Zip Forms??? This is your opportunity to learn how to use the Zip Forms program which is available free to all members of the Prince George's County Association of REALTORS. A representative of Zip Forms will be available on Monday, February 10th, at the La Fontaine Bleu to teach you how to make the best use of the Zip Forms program and answer any questions you may have. Classes will be held at 9:00 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 1:00 p.m., 2:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. You can obtain a registration form on our website or you can contact the Association office at 301-306-7900. There is no charge for these classes.

2002 ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS ENTRIES DUE BY JANUARY 31, 2003 . . . All entries for the 2002 Achievement Awards must be received in the Association Office no later than Friday, January 31, 2003, at 5 p.m. All those who received awards last year, will receive a copy of the rules and entry form by the end of this week. If you do not receive a copy in the mail, you can obtain a copy on the website or call the Association office at 301-306-7900. If a transaction does not appear on your MRIS printout, it will not be counted this year. There will be no exceptions to this rule so check your transactions carefully to be sure they are entered in MRIS correctly. The Annual Awards Luncheon will be held on March 20th. More information will be sent out in the near future.

WOMEN'S COUNCIL MEETING . . .The Prince George's County Chapter of the Women's Council of REALTORS will hold a luncheon meeting on Thursday, January 9th, at the LaFontaine Bleu in Lanham. The meeting will begin at 11:30 a.m. and the cost is $20 per person. Linda Demarlor will be the luncheon speaker. Her topic will be How to Avoid a Tax Audit. Reservations may be made by contacting Willie Mae Thompson at 301-839-0300 or Judy Blowe at 301-464-0044. Space is limited so make your reservations early..

COMPLETE YOUR ETHICS TRAINING REQUIREMENTS ON-LINE - FOR FREE . . . By December 31, 2004, all REALTORS must take 2 hours of ethics training, as required by NAR'S Code of Ethics and Arbitration Manual. NAR offers two on-line ethics courses at REALTOR.org that fulfill these obligations: one for new members and one for existing members . The on-line courses are available from any screen of REALTOR.org under "Quick Links" Questions can be directed to the Member Policy Department at (312) 329-8399 or http://www.realtor.org/MemPolWeb.nsf/pages/onlineethicstraining. (NOTE: Classes will also be offered by PGCAR after the January 1st of 2003.

JANUARY CONTINUING EDUCATION CLASSES . . . There is still space available in the following classes:

  • **January 17th - MD 6 Hour Required Course consisting of MD Legislative Update (3 hours), MD Legal Update (1.5 hours) and MD Fair Housing (1.5 hours). Instructor - Don Martin. LaFontaine Bleu

  • January 22nd - Environmental Issues - Mold, Radon, Lead Based Paint and More. Instructor - Walter Clews. 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. - 3 hours of MD & DC Continuing Education. Association Office

  • January 24th - It's a Bird, It's a Plane, It's a Contract! Instructor - Al Monshower. 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. - 3 hours of MD & DC Continuing Education LaFontaine Bleu.

** Please Note: These 3 classes meet the 6 hour requirement for those licensed for more than 10 years. The cost for the 6 hours is $60 for REALTORS and $100 for non-REALTORS. Registration fee for REALTORS is $25 for 3 hours of credit. A $15 late fee is charged if reservations are made less than 3 days prior to any class. NO WALK-INS.
