PLEASE PROVIDE PGCAR WITH YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS IF YOU ARE NOT RECEIVING THE REALTOR CONNECTION.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE NEWLY ELECTED OFFICERS AND DIRECTORS FOR 2004. . . The following Officers and Directors were elected to serve on the Board of Directors for 2004. OFFICERS - President - Connie Stommel; President-Elect - Bea Rodgers and Vice President -David Maclin; DIRECTORS: Pat Dowtin, John Lesniewski, Stu Stern and Ruth Wright. The other Directors remaining on the Board are Don Frederick, Willie Rhone, Joyce Roper and Linda Simpson.

2004 DUES BILLS ARE IN THE MAIL. . . The Invoices for 2004 Dues have been mailed to all members. Dues must be received no later than November 30, 2003 in order to avoid a $25 late fee. If you have not received your invoice or if you have any questions, please contact the Association office.

SUPRA KEY UPDATE FOR RECIPRICAL AREAS. . . .Don't forget that you must still call KIM on a monthly basis at 1-877-887-8772 to receive a manual update code for Anne Arundel, MARS Region and Frederick County. Since those Associations are still on the old Supra Key System, your new key will NOT automatically update for those areas; HOWEVER, it will work in all areas when updated correctly. Our Key exchange does not affect the keys from other areas. Keys issued by Anne Arundel, MARS, Frederick, etc. will still work in Prince George's County lockboxes. If you have questions, please call PGCAR at 301-306-7900.

REMINDER - EVICTION LAW CHANGES EFFECTIVE AUGUST 11TH FOR SINGLE FAMILY RENTALS. . . Despite REALTOR® opposition, the Prince George's County Council passed CB-26 into law which makes changes to the current eviction process in Prince George's County. Specifically, the new law prohibits the placement of tenant's property in a "public right-of-way or on any public property." For most evictions, this law will require the owner of the property to either: rent a dumpster and dump all of the tenant's property in the dumpster after removing it from the house; or hire someone to haul the tenant's property out of the house and bring it immediately to the dump or transfer station. In any case, you WILL NOT be able to leave the property at the curb. In addition, the law also states that if the tenant is present at the time the eviction is executed, the owner of the property must give the tenant a reasonable period of time (not to exceed four hours) to remove his/her property.

ALL REALTORS MUST COMPLETE ETHICS TRAINING BY DECEMBER 31, 2004. . . Time is growing short to complete the required NAR Ethics training. As a requirement to membership, by December 31, 2004, ALL REALTORS® must take 2 ½ hours of ethics training, as required by NAR'S Code of Ethics and Arbitration Manual. NAR offers two online ethics courses at REALTOR.org that fulfill these obligations: one for new members and one for existing members. Questions can be directed to the Member Policy Department at (312) 329-8399 or the questions link at REALTOR.org. (NOTE: Classes are also being offered by PGCAR on a regular basis.)
