THE COMMUNITY ACTION AND REALTOR® EXCELLENCE (CARE) AWARD
The Community Action and REALTOR® Excellence (CARE) Award is given to associations in Maryland recognizing achievements in community service and charitable actions. REALTORS® in Prince George's County give back to their communities every day and we would like to be able to publicize your community participation. Please send a list of any community/charitable projects you and/or your company have participated in - as part of a group, office or individually - between June 2004 and June 2005. Offices are welcome to send information on their projects. We would appreciate your sending of press releases, photos, etc. for inclusion in our Community Action album. REALTOR® VOLUNTEERISM AND COMMUNITY SERVICE RECOGNIZED. . . In addition to the CARE Awards, the association will be recognizing Prince George's volunteers who give back to their communities at a REALTOR® Recognition Ceremony to be held at La Fontaine Bleu June 2nd. Click here to participate.
SPOTLIGHT ON PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY TO HIGHLIGHT SPECIAL OFFICES. . . As a feature in the monthly "Spotlight On Homes" supplement, Heidi LaMere of the Gazette selects an office every month that goes above and beyond the call of duty for a FREE 3/4 page ad highlighting their community involvement. Two Prince George's County offices, Long & Foster in Bowie and Century 21 Home Center, have already been featured. The articles outline the community efforts REALTOR® offices are involved in. We are now looking for the office to be spotlighted in May. Nominations must be received at the Gazette by May 6th. What is your office doing? HABITAT HOUSE CONSTRUCTION TO BEGIN
Habitat has finally secured the necessary permits and the foundation for the Habitat House in Riverdale should be put in this week. We are now ready to organize our workers. If you would like to volunteer your time to work on this project, please call the Association office at 301-306-7900 so that you will be notified of the times that workers will be needed. Also, it's not too late to make a tax deductible contribution. Checks should be made to Partnership for Housing and mailed to the Association office at 8400 Corporate Drive, Suite 225, Landover, Maryland 20785. Thank you for your generosity.

The PGCAR REALTOR® Expo and Trade Show will be held on May 19th at the Colony South Hotel and Conference Center on Surratts Road off of Branch Avenue (Route 5) in Clinton. You will be able to select from a large group of classes to complete 6 hours of continuing education. We have 38 exhibitors committed to provide you with information and products that will help you in your everyday business. ANNUAL RPAC FUNDRAISER WAS FUN FOR ALL!!! . . . This year's RPAC Fundraiser had a Country/Western theme and a great time was had by all. Some enjoyed singing Karaoke while others had fun line dancing or playing Texas Hold 'Em Poker. Many placed bids at the Silent Auction.
