The PGCAR REALTOR® Expo and Trade Show will be held this Thursday, May 19th at the Colony South Hotel and Conference Center on Surratts Road off of Branch Avenue (Route 5) in Clinton. You will be able to select from a large group of classes to complete 6 hours of continuing education. We now have 45 exhibitors committed to provide you with information and products that will help you in your everyday business. Be sure to mark your calendar for May 19th so that you won't miss this exciting event. Space is limited so don't wait until onsite to register. Registration Fee includes entire day's activities. REALTOR® VOLUNTEER RECOGNITION RECEPTION. . . PGCAR will once again honor members of our Association who volunteer. This year's Reception will be held at the LaFontaine Bleu on Thursday, June 2nd, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. All REALTORS® who file a questionnaire with the Association will be honored individually during the Reception. NOMINATIONS ARE BEING ACCEPTED . . .PGCAR is now accepting nominations for the 2005 REALTOR® of the Year Award, the Distinguished Sales Associate of the Year Award and the Affiliate of the Year Award. The Deadline for submitting a nominee is May 22nd. Please go online to or contact the Association office for forms at 301-306-7900.


The Community Action and REALTOR® Excellence (CARE) Award is given to associations in Maryland recognizing achievements in community service and charitable actions. Prince George's County REALTORS® give back to their communities every day and we would like to be able to publicize your community participation. Send a list of any community/charitable projects you or your company have participated in between June 2004 and June 2005 - as part of a group, office or individually. Send your press releases, photos, etc. so we can include them in our Community Action album and help gain you and your office PR for giving back to your community. Let's show the Maryland REALTOR® associations all the great things Prince George's County REALTORS® are doing! Share and gain recognition for community-based and charitable programs your company has participated in.

SPOTLIGHT ON PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY TO HIGHLIGHT SPECIAL OFFICES. . . As a feature in the monthly "Spotlight On Homes" supplement, Heidi LaMere of the Gazette selects an office every month that goes above and beyond the call of duty for a FREE 3/4 page ad highlighting their community involvement. Two Prince George's County offices, Long & Foster in Bowie and Century 21 Home Center, have already been featured. The articles outline the community efforts REALTOR® offices are involved in. We are now looking for other offices to be spotlighted. Nominations must be received at the Gazette. What is your office doing? If you feel your office should be highlighted over the coming months, please contact Heidi LaMere.

HABITAT HOUSE CONSTRUCTION TO BEGIN. . . Habitat has secured the necessary permits! The foundation for our Habitat House in Riverdale should be put in this week. We are now ready to organize our workers. If you would like to volunteer your time to work on this project, please call the Association office at 301-306-7900 so that you will be notified of the times that workers will be needed. Also, it's not too late to make a tax deductible contribution. Checks should be made to Partnership for Housing and mailed to the Association office at 8400 Corporate Drive, Suite 225, Landover, Maryland 20785. Thank you for your generosity.

LAST CHANCE TO APPLY FOR MAR COMMITTEES . . .The Maryland Association is accepting applications for 2005-2006 committee service! Recommendations must be made to MAR by this Friday, May 20, 2005. Applications are at

GRI SERIES I AND II SCHEDULED AT PGCAR. . . GRI SERIES I AND II will be held at the PGCAR REALTOR® Learning Center as follows:

GRI II - August 3, 4, 11, 17 and 18 Click for GRI II registration.
GRI I - October 5, 6, 13, 19 and 20 Click for GRI I registration.
. . . These classes fill up very quickly so be sure to register early. GRI III in June is already full.

CONTINUING EDUCATION CLASSES . . . There is still space available in the following classes:
