PGCAR Officer and Director
Candidate Applications will Open Monday, June 24
Watch your email and apply as a potential Candidate, and encourage other leaders to do the same, when the application opens June 24!
To be considered by the Credentials Committee for inclusion on the ballot, be prepared to list your recent PGCAR Committee and other experience, submit a 1-page qualifications statement with all relevant committee, community and professional experience, and your photograph with your Candidate Application.
Through PGCAR's many committees, YOU can play a major part in Association leadership and in contributions PGCAR members make throughout Prince George's County communities. ALL PGCAR Members are encouraged to volunteer on a committee.
Our 2024 / 2025 committees will serve October 1, 2024 through September 30, 2025.
Please carefully consider the requirements and responsibilities of each committee. Opening July 1, you'll have the opportunity to request to be appointed to a committee. We make every effort to get everyone appointed to their first choice committee; however, it's possible you will be appointed to your second choice. We do our best to make room for lots of new committee members every year!
Join PGCAR's Community Service Committee and dozens of other members in donating school supplies for the Annual Stuff the Bus School Supply Drive.
See and purchase from the Amazon Gift List or purchase elsewhere and bring to the PGCAR office. Help our County kids prepare and succeed in the upcoming school year!
Donations must be delivered by 4:30 pm Friday, July 12.
Thank you for your generosity!
On Saturday, April 27 the Prince George's County Association of REALTORS® participated in Prince George's County's Christmas in April. Christmas in April is a non-denominational volunteer organization that repairs the homes of senior citizens who are either low-income and/or physically challenged so they may live in warmth, safety, and independence.
Despite a few curveballs, we pulled it off! The homeowner was over the moon with gratitude for all the changes made to her home. We want to send a super special thank you to Brandon Lyons (Ready to Sell) for giving her a safer home (by installing not one but two locks and painting her door).
Shout out to our plumbing team Local Union 5 for repairing her bathroom sink and installing a brand new pedestal sink and we would be remiss without Chris (DPWT) who actually made 3 pickup trips. Thank you Sherman for making a trip to the nursery to add more flowers.
The homeowner shared that it was just all so overwhelming before but now she is encouraged to try to get some more support from her family and friends to keep it up.

Mortgage Rates Dip Below 7%
30-year mortgage rates retreated from their early spring ascent and 7.22% peak during the week ending May 2.
"Rates are just shy of 7%, and we expect them to modestly decline over the remainder of 2024. If a potential buyer is looking to buy a home this year, waiting for lower rates may result in small savings, but shopping around for the best rate remains tremendously beneficial," said Sam Khater, Freddie Mac's Chief Economist reports
Freddie Mac reports the following averages as of June 6
and their change from last month (May 9) and last year:
- The 30-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 6.99%
Down from 7.09% last month ~ Up from 6.71% last year
- The 15-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 6.29%
Down from 6.38% last month ~ Up from 6.07% last year
