REALTOR® VOLUNTEERS HONORED AT RECEPTION
Thursday, June 2, 2005
The REALTOR® Volunteer Recognition Reception is held each year to recognize the unselfish contribution of Prince George's REALTORS® to their communities and to the Association. It is our goal to inform the public about the contribution REALTORS® make in the community on a daily basis. In collecting our information, we found that those responding volunteer in the community on an ongoing basis in many different ways. Our members volunteer in the schools as mentors. They volunteer as scout leaders and youth coaches. They volunteer at their churches and nursing homes. They also volunteer in various community and civic organizations; and, in addition to this, many of the REALTORS® also give unselfishly to this Association. We found that REALTORS® take part in all kinds of community activities. They deliver food to shut-in through Meals on Wheels. They work in hospitals and give their time to hospice. They raise money for many charitable groups such as Easter Seals, the Miracle Network and Habitat for Humanity and they also participate in Christmas in April projects throughout the County.
This year, PGCAR was very honored to have The Honorable Audrey Scott, Maryland Secretary of Planning, in attendance to present the awards to the many REALTORS® who serve their communities and this Association on a regular basis. Secretary Scott has served Marylanders and Prince George's County in many capacities over the years and, in particular, served as a member of the Prince George's County Council, representing the 4th Council District, from 1994 until 2002. She was vice chair of the Council in 2001.
We want to extend our appreciation to all REALTORS® for their generosity.
