PGCAR President Desiree Callender Attends Press Event
November 20, 2014 in Hyattsville.

As part of the press panel to unveil the new $100 million dollar County down payment assistance program, PGCAR President Desiree Callender applauded the State's efforts in bringing this exciting and necessary program to Prince George's County. "Many young families have the monthly income to afford a reasonable mortgage payment and the day-to-day expense of homeownership, but they lack the necessary down payment to make buying their first home a reality. This program affords a fantastic and unprecedented opportunity for them to begin homeownership and start building wealth," said Desiree. Participating in the event were County Executive Rushern Baker, Maryland Attorney General Doug Gansler, and Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development Acting Secretary Clarence Snuggs.

Joining Desiree at the event to represent PGCAR were Chuck Ottley, PGCAR President–Elect; PGCAR Past President Linda Simpson; and Michael Graziano, PGCAR Director of Government Affairs, who shared this with the media, "While our real estate market is rebounding, we still have pockets of neighborhoods that are struggling with foreclosures and short sales. This new program (TriplePlay) is the shot in the arm needed to encourage buyers to visit these neighborhoods, cash in on some outstanding deals, and truly experience all that we have to offer here in Prince George's County."

All PGCAR members are encouraged to investigate the possibility of using the
new TriplePlay Down Payment Assistance program for your clients.
