Nearly 300 members attended PGCAR's recent General Membership luncheon, held on June 4th as part of our inaugural "Member Appreciation" week. Our Keynote Speaker Lawrence Yun, Chief Economist and Senior Vice-President of Research at the National Association of REALTORS®, presented an excellent overview of the local and national housing markets. Specifically, Mr. Yun pointed to Prince George's County as having a steadfast housing market with room for growth. Dr. Yun's presentation can be found here >
The Interim CEO of Bright MLS, Brian Donnellan, was on hand to address the most recent happenings with the new Bright MLS service. Bright is now operational in 6 states and the District of Columbia with 95,000 subscribers. Brian shared that Bright is the second largest MLS in the country. Members learned details about the Maryland Real Estate Commission from their new Executive Director, Mr. Michael Kasnic. Members also learned vital information about state legislative issues from Maryland REALTORS® Senior Vice-President of Government Relations, Bill Castelli.
Long-time PGCAR member and former President, Linda Simpson, was awarded the NAR Emeritus Award for her 40 years of committed service to NAR, Maryland REALTORS® and PGCAR. Congrats Linda!!
