PGCAR 2024 Legislative Breakfast
Thursday, December 5, 2024On December 5th, approximately 100 REALTORS®, affiliate members, and legislators gathered with enthusiasm at Martin's Crosswinds in Greenbelt, Maryland for Prince George's County Association of REALTORS® (PGCAR) Annual Legislative Breakfast. This annual event was meticulously planned by the Association's Legislative Committee under the leadership of the 2025 Legislative Committee Chair, Christian Jackson.
REALTORS® in attendance at the event welcomed a lineup of distinguished speakers, including Maryland State Senator Michael A. Jackson, Chair of the Prince George's Senate Delegation, Maryland State Senator Joanne C. Benson, Maryland State Delegate Nicole Williams, Chair of the Prince George's House Delegation, and Prince George's County Council Chair Jolene Ivey.
The engaging discussion captivated attendees as it addressed critical issues such as increasing housing supply with a focus on multi-family condominium construction, the benefits and applications of Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs), the impact of laws and regulations on housing affordability, the county's budget, declining revenue estimates, the need for future spending restraint, and other key topics vital to the REALTOR® community.
